CAMPGROUND ATTENDANT

Available Positions: 35      Year Round Positions: No      Seasonal Positions: Yes

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Lead Attendant and the Campground Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Campground Attendants are responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary facility for the benefit of Park visitors under the direction of the Campground Manager, Campground Office Manager, and/or Lead Attendant. Responsibilities include:
1. Perform all duties toward the goal of ensuring the best possible guest service.
2. Cleaning, maintaining, disinfecting and stocking of public restrooms (and showers where applicable).
3. Emptying and maintaining trashcans and recycling areas.
4. Sweeping and/or vacuuming.
5. General dusting when and where necessary.
6. Maintain an awareness of needed supplies and maintenance problems.
7. Groundskeeping, litter control, and ash removal at campsites.
8. Daily handling and stacking of firewood and/or ice inventories.
9. Traffic control and assistance with the site registration process.
10. Provide courteous service and basic area information to Yellowstone visitors.
11. Promote & educate guests on environmental & recycling policies and programs.
12. Understand and adhere to Department and Company policies and procedures.
13. Assure a safe and enjoyable work environment for guests and employees.
14. Maintain daily communication shift logs.
15. Assist other departments as needed.
16. Maintain good working relationship with the National Park Service personnel.
17. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Human relation skills - must be a people person who thrives on public contact.
2. Communication skills.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
4. Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks.
6. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, their usage and chemical safety.
7. Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities, activities, features and services.
8. Valid driver’s license required.
9. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
10. Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
