RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the total daily operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.
2. Maintains and monitors fuel inventories.
3. Accountable for materials used and ordering of items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established Company procedure.
4. Does other non-utility related repair and maintenance tasks when necessary.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Insures all boiler and boiler related equipment are maintained in good working order.
2. Establish and maintain proper boiler water chemistry by adding proper chemicals and following daily testing procedures.
3. Repairs and maintains all boiler equipment, including steam and condensate lines.
4. Insure hot water and steam are available where and when needed by maintaining equipment at its maximum efficiency.
5. Knowledge of operation and design of boilers and related equipment, as well as proper maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures.
6. This position will require the use of respiratory protection. OSHA standards require a clean-shaven face and a medical screening.
7. Comply with all current related safety and health requirements.
8. Able to read, understand and comply with all current Company policies and procedures.
9. Must be able to differentiate colors required for boiler water testing.
10. Must be able to work in extremely confined areas, hot temperatures, heights, and noisy environment.
11. Must possess an applicable, valid boiler operator's license and/or proof of experience.
12. Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
13. Must possess a valid driver's license.
