FIRE SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
Available Positions: 1 Year Round Positions: No Seasonal Positions: Yes
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Systems Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for inspecting, testing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers, fire hose stations and sprinkler systems. 2. Responsible for the inspecting and testing emergency lights, exit lights, kitchen hood systems, alarm systems, fire doors and egress ways. 3. Responsible for installing and replacing single station smoke detectors. 4. Responsible for coordinating work activities with location management and location maintenance manager. 5. Responsible for compliance with safety standards as applicable to the job. 6. Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 1. Must have knowledge of service life safety equipment and use of tools common to the trade. 2. Must have experience with fire and life safety codes. 3. Must have ability to work with a minimum of supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner. 4. Must possess a valid driver's license. 5. Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds. 6. Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions. 7. This position will require the use of respiratory protection. OSHA standards require a clean-shaven face and a medical screening.
