RESIDENCE COORDINATOR

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Personnel Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The Residence Coordinator is responsible for keeping the employee residences and surrounding areas clean, safe and comfortable; maintaining an appropriate environment in the residences for living, resting and recreating. This person will strive to maintain a residence which is free from vandalism and inappropriate behavior. Security should be stressed and Xanterra Parks & Resorts regulations enforced consistently.
2. The Residence Coordinator is responsible for establishing a working relationship with the residents; helping to create and maintain a sense of community in a suitable environment. The RC should take an interest in and be supportive of activities, programs and events which take place in the hall and in area recreation events. As a role model, the RC must use discretion as to the depth of involvement, so as not to compromise their position as a supervisor in the residence facility.
3. Maintaining high standards of residence housekeeping following daily and weekly cleaning schedules; as well as reporting additional needs and concerns to the Personnel Manager.
4. Keeping accurate records of resident's arrivals, activities, transfers and terminations; completing all administrative and clerical assignments promptly and accurately, including residence lists, daily reports, Housing Agreement/Issues.
5. Providing a clearing house for employee problems, complaints and discipline; handling personal issues with sensitivity, and maintaining appropriate confidentiality in making judgment calls regarding issues above and beyond the realm of their position - utilizing resources and making referrals;
6. Issuing linens, keys and supplies, working within the guidelines given for inventory control;
7. Using proper operating and preventative maintenance techniques with Company issued equipment and cleaning agents such as vacuum cleaners and chemicals;
8. Providing proper level of security for master keys, room keys and residence;
9. Serving as an Xanterra Parks & Resorts supervisor and role model for residents. The minimum expected is the personal observation of all residence hall, Xanterra Parks & Resorts, state and federal laws.
10. Supporting efforts of fellow staff members and contributing to team effort in whatever capacity may be needed.
11. To assist in maintaining safety standards for employee residences.
12. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Entry level management skills.
2. Office organization skills.
3. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
4. Basic knowledge of residence life policies.
5. Basic knowledge of Company and Park rules and regulations.
6. Leadership skills.
7. Must be capable of moving/lifting objects up to 50 pounds and maintain a moderate level of exertion.
